FOX

Hello friends!

After many years in hibernation a FOX has been spotted in our area again.

For those of you not familiar, a "FOX" or "BUNNY" is a low power hidden transmitter which will transmit some tones on and off so long as the battery lasts or until the fox meets another unfortunate demise.

Get your Direction Finding hats on and track it down!

Here are some resources which can help and hinder. We will do our own demonstrations as these hunts become more regular.

You DO NOT need any fancy equipment nor do you need a Yagi antenna, but one sure does make the job a bit easier.

If you are interested in building your own "tape measure antenna" here is a nice guide

Frequency: Typically 146.480 (Box Elder County Simplex) unless stated otherwise.

Keep an eye out below for planned dates and hints.

Once found please send a picture and your callsigns to 435-554-1237

I will be keeping score of those who find the fox each time. Eventually a prize will be given to he/she who finds it the most throughout the year.

PLEASE DO NOT move the fox or dismantle it in any way.

If for any reason there is a tie or someone is disqualified. Another hunt will be held in July to determine the winner.
